With a natural, vibrant color that pops under LED lights, GloFish fluorescent fish have been a popular choice for aquarists for more than 20 years. However, it was the brand’s acquisition in 2017 by Spectrum Brands that accelerated growth and fueled innovation, resulting in the launch of several new GloFish species, including its first catfish (cories) and cichlids (angelfish), and the brand’s expansion to a total of 33 fluorescent fish lines available today. Enhanced by a full range of aquarium kits, lighting, décor and accessories, GloFish products create a complete underwater fluorescent experience that appeals to all ages and levels of expertise.
Over the past few years, Spectrum has made major investments in research and development, allocating more than $6 million for new hatchery, water treatment and reclamation facilities that doubled capacity. A 2024 partnership with Aperture Pet & Life’s HelloReef has made the GloFish brand even more accessible to new hobbyists.
