Finley’s is a pet treat brand built on a purpose-driven foundation that sets it apart from traditional pet companies. Founded by former special education teachers Angie and Kyle Gallus, the brand originated from a classroom project aimed at teaching life and job skills to students with disabilities. What began as a small baking activity evolved into a business in 2016 when the founders recognized a larger issue: many of their former students faced significant barriers to employment despite having strong capabilities and potential.
From the outset, Finley’s was designed not just to sell dog treats, but to create meaningful social impact. Its business model is uniquely structured to give back to the community in a direct and measurable way. The company dedicates 50% of its net profits to initiatives that support individuals with disabilities, including job training, employment readiness programs, and advocacy efforts. Additionally, through its “Ambassador Program,” Finley’s creates paid work opportunities and public-facing roles for people with disabilities, integrating them into the brand’s marketing, events and outreach efforts rather than limiting them to behind-the-scenes roles.
