Founded by Jeff Baker in 1996, Canine Caviar describes itself as the first alkaline dog food. While many commercial dog foods are acidic, Canine Caviar is formulated to sit at a pH level of 7.5 to 8.0. Canine Caviar uses herbs and specific ingredients, along with a unique processing procedure, to balance a dog’s pH and to create an alkaline diet. This alkaline environment is designed to mirror the natural diet of a wild canine.
Canine Caviar was built on an alkaline-based diet designed to minimize cellular degeneration and collagen depletion while helping to put more oxygen in the cells. When a dog’s body is in a more alkaline state, it may reduce DNA fragmentation and improve metabolic efficiency. In simpler terms, it helps the body function at its peak, potentially slowing the aging process and minimizing cellular degeneration.
