Barrett Petfood is a family-owned and operated food extrusion company located in Brainerd and Little Falls, Minnesota. Led by owners Tom and Sarah Barrett, as well as their team of industry experts, Barrett specializes in pet food and treats co-manufacturing, from research and development through mass production.
Many of the company’s ingredients are grown by the Barrett family themselves. Specifically sourced raw ingredients are mixed and milled onsite for complete traceability and transparency. Barrett pushes the boundaries of pet food manufacturing with its twin-screw extrusion system that provides many capabilities in pet food production, and its system allows for a wide variety of colors, flavors, kibble sizes and shapes, in addition to high levels of fats and fresh meat inclusion.
Barrett manufactures products for some of the fastest growing brands in the pet industry. The bulk of its output is in the super premium category sold in pet specialty, natural grocers and in export markets. As its business has grown, Barrett has invested in its several expansions and new facilities, including a state-of-the-art freeze-drying manufacturing facility in Little Falls, Minnesota.
