Founded in 2002 in Lincoln, Instinct is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and produces a variety of foods for dogs and cats. Owned by Agrolimen, Instinct provides a range of options for dogs and cats, including frozen raw meals, freeze-dried raw meals, kibble, raw toppers and wet food. Instinct products are sold at pet specialty retailers, Petco, PetSmart, Chewy.com, neighborhood pet stores and more.
A raw leader since its start, the brand opened its new Center of Excellence (CoE) expansion in Lincoln, Nebraska, where it has been producing frozen and freeze-dried raw recipes for over 20 years. The expansion project builds on Instinct’s raw heritage with a state-of-the-art, sustainably built facility that is LEED certified, making Instinct one of the few pet food manufacturing plants in the U.S. with this globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement. Along with LEED certification, the CoE has consolidated work to a single campus that had previously been done across multiple locations. By consolidating campuses and other process improvements, its carbon footprint will be reduced by 272,000 pounds annually.
