Success Happens When Hard Work Addresses the Needs of Your Audience

That’s a wrap for Global Pet Expo 2024! Event co-hosts American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) deemed the 20th annual event a rousing success, with the sold-out show floor of 1,100-plus exhibiting companies attracting nearly 20,000 attendees from more than 85 countries.

When Global Pet Expo concluded, Whisker Media’s Mary Tan – a guest columnist who wrote “Strategic Storytelling: Follow These Expert Tips to Get Publicity for Your Pet Business” in the July issue of Pet Age – was quick to compliment the Global Learning Series, which delivered more than 50 hours of education on topics designed to help shape business decisions. She was one of many members of the pet industry to take advantage of the educational sessions.

“The excitement during the sessions and throughout the show floor was palpable,” said PIDA president Celeste Powers. “The entire Global Pet Expo team was inspired seeing months of planning transform into a fantastic event for the pet industry.”

This year’s edition of Global Pet Expo unveiled new activations to elevate the attendee experience. Entrances to the show floor were redesigned to create an immersive sensory experience upon arriving at the event.

In addition, the Innovation in Motion Experience revealed a new, modernized New Products Showcase display, Spotlight Stage and Think Tank. The show floor also expanded to feature new specialty areas that included The Modern Pet, the Supplier Pavilion and the Sustainability section, in partnership with the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC).

The success of such industry events as Global Pet Expo are due in part to event feedback and evaluation. After all, feedback provides valuable insights into the attendee experience, helps organizers measure success, identify trends and understand how people feel about the event. Without this feedback, organizers could only guess how satisfied attendees were and what could be done better at future events.
