Philadoptables, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk animals, has been named the recipient of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s 2025 Dogs’ Best Friend Award.
For the past 16 years, Philadoptables has worked tirelessly to generate awareness about animal rescue, promote pet adoption, and provide life-saving support for animals and shelters throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. This recognition celebrates not only the organization’s mission, but also the volunteers, donors, and community members who make its work possible.
“The Philadelphia area has thousands of animals in need — whether they are in shelters, on the streets, or in homes — and we depend on our community’s generosity to support our efforts to help them,” said Michelle Helms, founder and president of Philadoptables. “We are incredibly grateful to receive this award and can’t wait to use the funds to help even more animals in the region.”
The Dogs’ Best Friend Award honors individuals and organizations that demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to animal welfare and inspire compassion for dogs and other pets within their communities. As the 2025 recipient, Philadoptables will receive a $5,000 donation and be formally recognized on November 15 during the National Dog Show ceremonies at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
