The idea for the company started one fateful day while dog mom, Kyla Sternlieb, was having one of the most common conversations that pet parents have with their veterinarians. After a trip to the vet for her pup, Ruffy’s, tummy troubles, the vet suggested antibiotics and a “bland diet of white rice and plain chicken.”

This regularly recommended bland diet used to help soothe upset stomachs and ease gastrointestinal issues is one that at some point in a pet parent’s life will be a necessity. Ruffy’s need for a bland diet, a phrase Kyla had heard countless times, led her to a very valid question… Why don’t vet offices and pet stores sell such a product? This question led to Kyla creating the very first and flagship line-up of the Under the Weather brand, Bland Diets.
