The Board of Directors of the Pet Advocacy Network (PAN) has unanimously approved a series of leadership appointments and officer transitions designed to strengthen the organization’s governance and advance its long-term advocacy mission.
Following formal Board action by unanimous written consent, PAN approved the appointment of John Mellace of Pet Express to the Board of Directors, filling the seat vacated by Elizabeth Kunzelman. In addition, the Board approved the election of Robert Cook as Vice Chair, Brent Neil as Treasurer, and Amanda Fredal as Secretary for the remainder of the current officer terms.
The transitions come at an important moment for the organization as PAN continues to expand its advocacy reach and strategic initiatives.
“We are incredibly pleased to welcome John to the Board and congratulate Robert, Brent, and Amanda on their new leadership roles,” said Chris Fleming, Chairman of the Board of the Pet Advocacy Network. “Each of these individuals brings valuable experience, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to the responsible care of pets and the future of our industry. Their willingness to step forward in service to PAN reflects the strength of our organization and the momentum we are building together.”
Fleming also recognized the service of outgoing Vice Chair Elizabeth Kunzelman and outgoing Secretary Chris Buerner for their contributions to the organization.
“We are deeply grateful to Elizabeth for her years of leadership and service to PAN,” Fleming said. “While she is stepping down from the Board and her role as Vice Chair, we are excited that she will continue supporting the organization in a senior Government Affairs role, where her expertise and passion for advocacy will continue to make a meaningful impact. We also sincerely appreciate Chris Buerner’s continued commitment to PAN as he transitions from the Secretary role while remaining an active member of the Board.”
Sandy Moore, CEO of the Pet Advocacy Network, emphasized the importance of strong leadership as PAN continues to grow its advocacy efforts and member engagement.
“Strong organizations are built by people willing to contribute their time, leadership, and experience in service of something larger than themselves.”
