Purina PetCare is arguably the most well-known brand in the pet industry. In support of the demand for its products, Purina operates more than two dozen manufacturing facilities across the country. As part of its sustainability efforts, Purina uses regional production and distribution, aiming to minimize the number of long-distance semi-trucks on the road.
Recent years have seen Purina launch its first zero-tailpipe-emission delivery with the use of a hydrogen fuel cell electric semi-truck, which has a maximum range of up to 500 miles and can be refueled in 20 minutes or less.
Another recent development was the expansion of Purina’s production facility in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The 35,000-square-foot expansion is part of a larger growth strategy for the pet care company, which recently celebrated the grand opening of a new dry pet food facility in Eden, North Carolina and completed expansion to its King William, Virginia litter factory.
