CityVet, a community of locally owned veterinary practices, will open CityVet Casselberry on May 26.
Located at 202 State Road 436 in Casselberry, Florida, the clinic will be owned and led by local veterinarian Kaitlyn Guerrido, also known as Dr. G, whose path from kennel technician to veterinarian and practice owner reflects more than 15 years of experience in the field and a deeply personal approach to pet care.
Dr. Guerrido was drawn to Casselberry after seeing firsthand the need for accessible, high-quality veterinary care in the area. Shaped by both professional experience and community need, her decision to open in the neighborhood reflects a desire to serve local pet families with a full range of services, including preventive and wellness care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and urgent care, along with an emphasis on clear communication, accessible care, and treatment plans tailored to each pet and family.
For Dr. Guerrido, one of the most important parts of practicing veterinary medicine is guiding pet owners through stressful or emotional situations with empathy and clarity. She believes excellent care means not only treating the patient but also supporting the people who love them.
“I deeply empathize with pet parents, always striving to understand their perspectives and challenges,” said Dr. Guerrido. “My approach is to provide the best possible care for each animal while helping pet owners feel supported and informed during stressful moments.”
As a pet parent to Chardonnay, Gus, and Biggie Smalls, Dr. Guerrido understands firsthand the trust families place in their veterinarian.
Dr. Guerrido’s path to ownership has been built through hands-on experience across every level of veterinary practice. She began her career in the field in 2012 as a kennel technician and went on to serve in roles including client service representative, veterinary assistant, technician, and, ultimately, veterinarian. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2020, bringing with her a broad understanding of both the profession and the people who make a clinic run.
That experience is reflected in both her leadership style and her vision for CityVet Casselberry. Having experienced both strong team culture and the challenges that can come with unhealthy work environments, Dr. Guerrido is intentional about building a clinic where people across every department feel valued, supported, and excited to grow in the work they do.
“My journey through veterinary medicine has shaped both the leader I am today and the kind of clinic I want to build,” said Dr. Guerrido. “Having worked in so many roles throughout a practice has allowed me to connect more deeply with both teams and clients. As an owner, I now have the opportunity to support others in their growth and create a workplace culture rooted in respect and collaboration.”
In addition to her work in general practice, Dr. Guerrido has a special interest in theriogenology – small animal reproduction medicine. She brings six years of experience in that field and is trained and certified in preservation techniques, adding another layer of expertise to the care she will provide at CityVet Casselberry.
“Dr. Guerrido’s career reflects a deep commitment to both veterinary medicine and the people who make it possible,” said David Boguslawski, President and CEO of CityVet. “Having worked her way through so many roles in the field, she brings a perspective that will help her build a clinic where pets, clients, and team members all feel supported.”
At CityVet Casselberry, Dr. Guerrido hopes to create a clinic where pets receive high-quality medicine and clients feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported at every stage of care.
