Danish Pet Food Brand Launches Insect Protein, Vegan Dog Treats Across European Markets

Globe Buddy, a Danish pet food brand, has launched Hearts, a new 75-g range designed for everyday rewarding, with two insect-protein recipes and one vegan variety.

The range consists of three varieties: Insect Protein & Seaweed, Insect Protein & Green Tea, and the vegan Sweet Potatoes & Marigold.

The two insect-based recipes use insect protein as an alternative source of animal protein, while the third recipe offers a fully plant-based option. All three are semi-moist treats designed for everyday rewarding and are made in Europe.

“Hearts is about making alternative ingredients approachable and easy to include in everyday life with your dog. We wanted to create a range that looks inviting on the shelf, tastes good to dogs and at the same time gives dog owners a choice between insect protein and a completely plant-based option,” said Bjarne Gravesen Jensen, co-founder and CEO of Globe Buddy.

The launch further expands Globe Buddy’s treat portfolio, which also includes its functional Luxx range and Crunch snacks in insect-protein and plant-based varieties, with two of the Crunch products certified by The Vegan Society. Alternative proteins and plant-based ingredients have become an increasingly important part of the Danish company’s product development as it expands its presence across European markets.

Founded in Denmark, Globe Buddy launched its first products in 2021. Its portfolio today includes dry dog food, functional treats, everyday snacks and dog accessories, with products developed in Denmark and produced in Europe.
