Scout & Zoe’s recently announced the availability of its Black Soldier Fly Larvae, Carp Bubblers and Kangaroo dog treats. Since 2010, South & Zoe’s has been a pioneering name in pet treats offering a diversity of proteins with human-grade ingredients produced in the United States. Privately owned by Cynthia Dunston Quirk, it was the first company to introduce Black Soldier Fly Larvae dog treats into the market in 2019.

“I started Scout & Zoe’s for my dogs, Zoe and Scout, who were highly allergic to a number of proteins,” said Cynthia Dunston Quirk, the company founder. “I couldn’t find a lot of options in the market – so I started my own company.”

Scout & Zoe’s started as primarily an antler chew company and has expanded into many single-ingredient treats with unique proteins such as frogs legs, Asian carp, black soldier fly larvae, kangaroo and minnows. The company also offers toppers and freeze-dried raw meals with a variety of proteins and flavors.

The company’s ‘Super Fly’ Black Soldier Fly Larvae are the treats of the future. It is available in Jerky, treat, topper and oil formats. Carp Bubblers are an extremely unique treat made from the invasive “Asian” Carp and are not native to North America. These carp wreak havoc on the environment. The company is turning this alternative protein into a great tasting dog treat while helping the ecosystem. Its kangaroo jerky is sustainably sourced from Australia but is made here in the USA in a USDA inspected facility, like all its treats.
