Press release: Bentley’s Pet Stuff

On January 30, 12-year-old Hunter Wesley of Science Hill, Kentucky lost his life trying to rescue his dog Pugley from the family’s burning home. Bentley’s Pet Stuff announced that Monday, February 4 thru Friday, February 8, 2019, all of its Ohio store sales will be donated to the Hunter Memorial to help the boy’s family.

“I was on my lunch break when I found out about this brave boy’s tragic death,” said Nicole Johnson a Bentley’s Pet Stuff Cherry Grove, Ohio employee. “I called our Vice President of Business Development Giovanni Senafe to see if there was anything we could do. I was so happy by how much they wanted to help!”

Senafe has pledged to donate a week’s worth of sales from all Ohio stores to the Hunter Memorial. In addition, stores will accept cash donations through Bentley’s “Round up to Rescue” renamed the “Hunter Memorial Fund” for the week). Customers are invited to round up their purchases to the next dollar amount for a special cause.

“This is a devastating time for Hunter’s family as well as the community, we wanted to help and also to find a way to honor Hunter’s love of animals,” Senafe said.

“We are so proud of our employees who look out to help the communities we serve. It’s a deeply-held company value,” added Senafe. “Nicole saw an opportunity for our support and reached out to see how we could help.”
