Press release: Platinum Pets

As the holiday season approaches, the Platinum Pets team joined the KMR Group Foundation in assembling over 1,000 Essential Packs for Share to distribute at their annual Holiday Party. For many of us, the holidays are a time of joy and festivity – but for struggling individuals and families, this time can bring a heightened sense of desperation and despair. Amidst the extravagant spending of the season, there are some who lack even the basic necessities for personal hygiene and self- care.

“This is my 16th year of participating in the assembly.” said Melissa Pedraza, general manager at Platinum Pets. It is an annual event that her whole family looks forward to.

“My sister and her kids come every year also. We live and work in this community and we all wanted to be involved and give back,” said Pedraza.

Each pack contains everyday items (such as socks, hats, food gift cards, toothbrushes, toys for the kids) to help support the Clark County homeless population. With the help of Platinum Pets, KMR Foundation can distribute thousands of essential packs annually, bring comfort and cheer to the area’s most vulnerable citizens.

“The needs are greater than ever, but so is the potential for support this holiday season. Donating and volunteering truly brings the community together. We are so grateful to KMR and Platinum Pets” states executive director Diane McWithey. “We have special ways to get involved throughout the holiday season, including adopt-a-family programs and volunteer opportunities to wrap and distribute gifts.”
