American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s largest certifier of animal welfare helping to ensure the humane treatment of more than a billion animals across the globe each year, has announced that Quality Marine has earned the distinction of American Humane Certified for its high standards of care and treatment of animals.

The Pet Provider certification was awarded after a careful assessment of the safety, welfare, wellbeing and overall condition of all aquatic life at Quality Marine.

“Quality Marine is to be commended for taking an important step to help ensure animals in their care are treated humanely and ethically,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane Society. “We applaud Quality Marine for being the first company of its kind to achieve American Humane Certified status and for being a progressive industry leader committed to our audit.”

Rigorous Certification Standards

The American Humane Certified Pet Provider program enforces rigorous, science-based, and comprehensive criteria for animal welfare, reviewed by an independent Scientific Advisory Committee comprised of world-renowned leaders in the fields of animal science, animal behavior, and animal ethics.

“We are honored to be certified by American Humane Society. Quality Marine sets a very high bar when it comes to fish care,” said Chris Buerner, president and owner of Quality Marine. Having such an authoritative voice for animal protection and welfare recognize our actions and efforts is tremendously important and gratifying.”
