PAW5 Introduces Wooly, the Official Snuffle Mat

PAW5 recently announced the launch of Wooly, an environmentally-friendly dog feeder developed to challenge, engage and entertain bored and under-stimulated dogs living in households across the United States.

According to the company, the PAW5 Wooly engages dogs’ powerful sense of smell as they snuffle, snort and sniff their way through dinner. By combining their natural foraging instincts with mealtime, dogs have the opportunity to use the most powerful tool they were born with: their nose. With 300 million olfactory receptors at the end of their snouts, they can smell 10,000 to 100,000 times better than their human counterparts, according to Pet360. Inspired by this awesome power, Wooly puts dogs’ noses and brains to work by mimicking the hunt for food in grass and fields.

“With our endless to-do lists, it’s hard to find time to fit another activity into each day,” said Dennis O’Donnel, PAW5 co-founder. “Our goal is to develop creative products that make dogs’ lives better and pet parents’ lives easier. Wooly is an incredibly unique product that will change the way dogs eat—helping them learn, think and problem solve—and all their human has to do is feed them dinner.”

The design of the PAW5 allows pet parents to simply pour the food or treats on the snuffle matt and the specially woven strands require dogs to sniff and hunt their way through mealtime.

Wooly is an up-cycled negative waste product made in a small community in rural Thailand, according to PAW5. The Bua Bhat Factory, a progressive women-owned company, weaves each mat from pre-consumer fabric left over from the industrial textile industry.
