The China International Pet Show (CIPS) celebrated its 20th opening in Guangzhou on November 10, 2016. The show spans over a display area of more than 100,000 square meters and highlighted the aquarium segment for its 2016 incarnation with the CIPS Global Ornamental Fish Championship and other programming.

With 1,221 exhibitors and 46,000 visitors, CIPS organizers said in a press release that the show was the biggest gathering for the pet and aquarium sector in Asia. The program was designed to help international companies operating in the sector gain a foothold in the Asian market.

With significant growth expected in the Chinese pet market, CIPS and its forums seek to bring together East and West in an opportunity to generate business and form successful relationships between industry players. The show is held annually, alternating between the cities of Guangzhou and Shanghai. The 2016 CIPS was open November 10 to 13, 2016 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
