Casey’s, the third largest convenience store and fifth largest pizza chain in the U.S., is proud to announce a new partnership with K9s For Warriors, the nation’s leading provider of trained service dogs to military veterans nationwide suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, and other invisible wounds of war at no financial cost to the veterans.
Through the partnership, Casey’s funded the training of a future service dog – named “Casey” – who is projected to graduate with her warrior in San Antonio this October.
“At Casey’s, we proudly support those who serve our communities – including our military veterans. The healing relationships that K9s For Warriors create through their work are life-changing for veterans and service dogs, and we’re honored to help further this mission,” said Katie Petru, director of PR, communications and community at Casey’s.
Since its founding in 2011, K9s For Warriors has matched more than 1,100 military veterans with trained service dogs, many of which are rescued, making it the largest rescue-to-service dog program in the country. The organization’s mission to end veteran suicide addresses critical issues facing the U.S., where approximately 20 veterans take their lives and over 1,000 dogs are euthanized each day.
“At K9s For Warriors, we’re deeply grateful for partners like Casey’s who share our commitment to ending veteran suicide and transforming lives,” said Lindsay Grayson, chief revenue officer at K9s For Warriors. “Their support helps us provide hope, healing, and a new beginning for our nation’s heroes, while also giving rescue dogs a second chance and new purpose. Together, we are truly saving lives at both ends of the leash.”
Casey’s and its more than 50,000 team members serve millions of guests every day in 2,900 stores across 19 states with a significant presence in mid-size and rural communities across middle America. With support from guests and supplier partners, Casey’s was able to donate $6.6 million toward core needs of its communities in fiscal year 2025, which includes direct support for more than 2,000 military families through partnerships with veteran service organizations.
