Australia’s Tru Blu K9000, a do-it-yourself dog wash manufacturer, has opened its U.S. headquarters in Wilmington, North Carolina, to better serve North America’s growing pet industry. During the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, the K9000 is taking orders at a special price, celebrating the company’s North American launch. For more information and to schedule a meeting during the Global Pet Expo, contact Tru Blu K9000’s U.S. CEO Paul Baron.

“Since our founding in 2005, Tru Blu has sold more than 1,200 K9000 machines worldwide, and all remain in service today,” Baron said.

That record is a testament to the company’s market-leading quality construction, low maintenance and reliable service, Tru Blu said. Today’s market demand for the K9000 is driving the company’s U.S. launch. Already sold out through April, Tru Blu K9000 is now taking advance purchase orders for May delivery.

The opening of the U.S. headquarters is well-timed to coincide with pet ownership trends in North America. Studies show some 78 million dogs are domesticated in the U.S., with 44 percent of American households having at least one dog. But pet owners are busier and have less space at home to bathe their dogs. The K9000 DIY dog-washing stations are meeting that need; K9000 machines washed more than 2 million dogs worldwide in 2016.Tru Blu

K9000s build traffic and new revenue for pet stores, groomers, kennels, doggie daycare businesses and veterinary practices. Dog washing is an added service that contributes to the customer experience, creating repeat customers and improving word of mouth referrals, according to K9000 owners. With its sturdy stainless steel construction and high security features, businesses can place the K9000 indoors or outdoors. The K9000 is designed to function flawlessly and unattended, indoors during normal business hours or outdoors for a 24-hour revenue stream that can extend customer service and attract new customers well beyond typical hours of operation. At a minimum of two washes per day, the K9000 turns a profit; at fewer than 12 washes per week, the K9000 is breaking even.

“When one does the math and considers our reputation and reliability, it’s easy to see the profit potential the K9000 offers,” Baron said

“We have a K9000 Tru Blue dog wash at our veterinary hospital because we find them efficient; they run themselves,” said Penny Broadbent of Beleura Veterinary Hospital in Mornington, Australia. “Our clients and other visitors can use the dog wash 24/7; we don’t have to be open for it to be running. We started with one machine and within months we had to add a second one because demand was so high.”
