Andis Company, an industry leader in animal grooming tools and education, announced three professional grooming experts as new Andis Animal Educators.  Manuel Graniel (Mexico), Miki Takagi (Japan) and Luiz Renato (Brazil) join Andis’ team of elite grooming specialists, and they bring their world-class expertise to the Andis Education Team’s mission of providing animal grooming education resources worldwide. 

“Andis is proud to have 27 animal educators spanning 5 continents and we are not planning on slowing growth anytime soon,” said Nicole Kallish, global education manager for Andis Animal. “We know there is a great need for top-tier education in the animal grooming space. Andis is proud to bring our commitment to excellence to bear, not just with our tools, but by providing world-class educational resources to groomers across the globe.

Manuel Graniel [Small Animal Educator] – Manuel Graniel got his start breeding Siberian Huskies from 1995 to 2008 with multiple awards including “Best in Show” as well as “Professional Handler” for breeds including Boxers, Afghans, Kerry Blue Terriers, Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, Chinese Crested, Poodles and more. He transitioned to commercial dog grooming and has been a grooming instructor since 2013. Manuel is a creator of several techniques for best use and handling of grooming tools and has won awards at grooming competitions in Pasadena, Las Vegas and Mexico. He is also the Instructor Coordinator for Alianz Canine Worldwide (ACW) in Latin America and is the ACW–Mexico Representative. “To be a great groomer, the pursuit of education goes hand-in-hand with expertise in operating professional tools,” says Graniel.

Miki Takagi [Small Animal Educator] – Miki Takagi is a professional pet groomer who is a certified Japan Kennel Club (JKC) A-class trimmer and owner of three pet salons. She is also a competition judge in Japan and other Asian countries. As a competitive groomer, she won many contest prizes in various shows including Groom Expo and SuperZoo. She has given lectures at more than 500 seminars since 2013, and in 2015, she launched the “Speed Trimming Curriculum,” which is popular with many Japanese groomers. In 2018, she won first place in the Bichon Frise and the All-Pure Breeds class and, later, won first place in the Salon Freestyle class in 2019. Takagi also appears in season 4 of Netflix’s “Dog Story” documentary.

Luiz Renato Marques [Small Animal Educator] – Luiz Renato started his career in 1997, in São Paulo, Brazil. Since then, he has taken classes with the most prominent names in international grooming, such as Luis Serra, Hilda Drummond and Vania Breim. Later, Luiz set off to Europe, where he had the opportunity to learn from famous specialists Emilia Diaz and Umberto Lehmann. Renato has been in the grooming industry for over 20 years, and he is now the owner of Grooming Time and Grooming & Care (Pet Shop and Day Care). Renato is a national and international champion and is now an international judge for the largest worldwide grooming association, the European Grooming Association (EGA) in addition to being Pet Society Ambassador. These titles represent his professional growth and reflect his daily search to overcome new challenges with focus and discipline. He knows that the effort and passion he puts in his work enhances the quality of his services.
