ZIWI Joins 3rd Annual Happy Nnadi Days at Bar K to Benefit Derrick Nnadi Foundation

ZIWI recently participated in the third annual Happy Nnadi Days at Bar K benefiting the Derrick Nnadi Foundation. Attendees included local Kansas City residents and Chiefs fans, Kansas City Chiefs community staff, Bar K regulars, along with team members from several local nonprofits including KC Pet Project, Pawsperity, Lucky 13, Sheffield Place and more. Guests enjoyed music, appetizers and cocktails in the upstairs lounge and patio area, and their pets received samples from sponsors like us and Brutus Bone Broth.

ZIWI team members enjoyed the evening with a silent auction packed with fun items that included a 2-Bay Event at Topgolf Overland Park, a Party Animal Package at Bar K, a Smokestack Tour for two at Boulevard Brewing Company, two Chiefs swag bags, a gift basket from Pet Supplies Plus, two Chiefs player-signed footballs, a Travis Kelce signed football and certificates to The Capital Grille, Westside Local and Blue Bird Bistro. Given the competitive nature of ZIWI’s team, employees were happy to walk away with many of the prizes upon placing the highest bid, with proceeds donated to the Derrick Nnadi Foundation.

The foundation aims to cultivate positive change in people’s lives, inspire children and families through meaningful interactions, and assist those in need. Derrick Nnadi’s father taught him at a young age that “as Nnadi’s, we don’t receive, we give,” and The Derrick Nnadi Foundation embodies that mantra through all of the work that it does.

“The Derrick Nnadi Foundation felt the love at the third annual Happy Nnadi Days event! The event was a huge success thanks to our sponsors and everyone that came out and donated. I really appreciate the support and am excited to continue giving back to the community,” said Nnadi.

Earlier this month, Nnadi provided a warm Cracker Barrel meal to the families at Sheffield Place in Kansas City and provided gifts to each of the children. He also provided a meal to the children at the Boys & Girls Club in Virginia Beach, where he is originally from. ZIWI is proud to support Nnadi’s philanthropic work, as the pet brand’s partnership continues with KC Pet Project, where ZIWI supplies swag bags and Nnadi covers the adoption fees every time the Chiefs win. Finding alignment with those in the community who have a mutual passion for bettering the lives of the pets and people fills ZIWI with pride and joy.
