Press release: Woofie’s

Local pet services franchise, Woofie’s Reston-Herndon, has now added dog training to its list of pet care offerings as demand for pet services continues to grow following a rise in pet adoptions during COVID-19.

Founded in 2004 and franchising since 2018, Woofie’s is a franchise in the professional pet care services industry that is the first to offer the combined services of pet sitting, dog walking and mobile pet spa services. They are further set apart by their completely customizable amenities and their focus on personalized customer support and community service with local shelters. Woofie’s also offers Pet Tech First Aid/CPR classes and in 2019 they launched the Woofie’s Academy grooming school.

The pandemic spurred a wave of pet adoptions in Virginia and throughout the U.S. as stay-at-home orders had potential pet parents seeking comfort and companion animals. Since opening in 2018, Woofie’s Reston-Herndon (which also services Sterling) has offered award-winning, personalized, customizable pet services such as pet sitting, dog walking, and Mobile Pet Spa grooming. After fielding multiple requests for dog training from clients and pet owners, Woofie’s Reston-Herndon assembled a team of highly-qualified, experienced dog trainers and added dog training to their menu of pet services.

In addition to private-one-on-one training, Woofie’s Reston-Herndon also offers small semi-private classes such as Puppy Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, Play-Based Learning, and Adult Basic and Intermediate Obedience. Woofie’s training philosophy is relationship-based, focusing on how dogs and humans can communicate most effectively all while incorporating scientific research, learning theory, kindness, a love of dogs and most importantly – fun for both the pet and pet owner.

Areas of training expertise include counseling clients who are considering adding a new puppy or rescue dog to their family and training with clients who have already adopted a puppy or rescue dog. Woofie’s Reston-Herndon’s dog training team – Michele Khol, Beatrix Beri, and Eliza Jamison – have close to 30 years of combined experience in dog training along with certifications by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), among other certifications.

Woofie’s Reston-Herndon owner, Tanya Lee says, “We have always considered ourselves an all-in-one pet services company. Adding dog training to our offerings just makes sense and our clients are so excited to have yet another resource in Woofie’s.”

Woofie’s Reston-Herndon is the first in the Woofie’s franchise system to offer dog training and will initially service the Reston, Herndon and Sterling areas.
