Wisdom Panel Launches Cat DNA Test, Donates $30K to Rescue Organization

Wisdom Health Genetics, the world’s leader in pet genetics and makers of the Wisdom Panel dog DNA test, has recently announced the launch of Wisdom Panel Complete for Cats.

Developed by world leading geneticists and veterinarians, Wisdom Panel Complete for Cats delivers vital insights about your cat, including breed breakdown, trait tests and health risks, all of which help you understand your cat better and provide the best possible care.

With this new product launch, Wisdom Panel is celebrating Adopt a Shelter Cat Month with a $30,000 donation to North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest, no-kill rescue and adoption organization. To raise awareness for and support cat adoption, the $30,000 donation will cover adoption fees for all approved adopters of cats and kittens at Animal League America during Adopt a Shelter Cat Month; it will also include at least $1 for each Wisdom Panel cat DNA test sold on on the Wisdom Health Genetics website throughout the month of June. 

“Having Wisdom Panel cover the adoption fees for all approved adopters, particularly now at the height of Kitten Season, will not only help us raise awareness about the importance of rescue and adoption but will also assist in finding loving homes for so many cats and kittens,” said Joanne Yohannan, senior vice president of operations for North Shore Animal League America. “Every time you adopt you save two lives: the one you take home and the one we can rescue and put in its place. As the most comprehensive cat DNA test on the market, Wisdom Panel Complete for Cats screens for more than 45 genetic conditions and medical complications including identification of your cat’s blood type and transfusion risk. If a cat’s results return any health findings, pet parents will be able to schedule a free phone call with one of the on-staff licensed veterinarians to discuss any notable health findings. Complete for Cats’ ancestry testing detects over 70 breeds and populations and identifies breed mix down to one percent.
