Veterinary-Owned CityVet Network Opens First Clinic in Austin, TX

CityVet, the Dallas-based leading network of 32 veterinary-owned practices serving people throughout pet care with kindness, opened its first Austin-area clinic on S. Congress Avenue in South Austin on August 21.

CityVet’s new facility will serve the community by providing full-service care for pets, including grooming, preventative care, diagnostics, same-day walk-ins, surgery and dental care.

CityVet South Austin is led by Dr. Shannon VanDyke, DVM, a graduate from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine who earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. VanDyke brings more than 10 years of experience specializing in emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and acupuncture and laser therapy to her role at the new clinic.

In addition to providing exceptional veterinary care, Dr. VanDyke devotes her career to improving the quality of life for her patients and their pet parents. She is passionate about bringing a kind and comforting environment that her patients won’t find anywhere else.

On opening the South Austin clinic Dr. VanDyke said, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to open a CityVet clinic in the city that I love and call home, Austin! CityVet offers veterinarians like myself a partnership that fosters growth, support, and medical autonomy that in turn, allows us to provide the best quality of care to our patients and clients.”
