The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing animals who are abused, neglected or abandoned. They create lasting relationships between people and animals through adoption, shelter pet behavior programs and by making available world-class veterinary care. These are still looking for their forever homes this year.

Sally (ID#A664083) This five-year-old charcoal cutie would be the perfect companion in a home where she can be the top dog! Kitties and young kids are not up Sally’s alley – she wants all of your love to herself! She does well around other dogs and is happiest when her human friends are near. Sally already knows how to “sit,” and she would have a lot of fun in obedience classes learning more. If you look closely, you may even see a few heart-shaped spots on her coat, making it even more difficult not to fall in love with this little lady. The Catahoula is the state dog of Louisiana, which is fitting since Albert came to HSMO from a partner shelter there, hoping to find a forever home in St. Louis. Gizmo (ID#A666213) Gizmo is a wonderful two-year-old chocolate lab who is full of energy despite the fact that he only has three legs. Gizmo arrived at HSMO with a severe injury to his left rear leg, but that didn’t stop us from giving him the second chance he deserves! Losing a leg has not slowed Gizmo down – he’s still a happygo-lucky guy, ready to play fetch and go on walks to explore his new neighborhood. Gizmo’s new family will need to make sure he stays at a healthy weight and that he doesn’t overdo it on his remaining rear leg so he can be a happy, healthy part of your family for many years to come!
