Swedencare’s ProDen PlaqueOff Powder Awarded VOHC Seal of Acceptance

SwedencareUSA announced the results of two clinical studies on dogs that show that Swedencare’s product ProDen PlaqueOff Powder significantly reduced the formation of plaque and tartar. The studies were performed by Jerzy Gawor, DVM, PhD, who is president of Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations and president elect of the European Veterinary Dental College. Data from these studies were submitted for review by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC), which awarded the Seal in the VOHC “Helps control plaque and tartar” categories. Swedencare is proud to announce that ProDen PlaqueOff Powder is now permitted to carry the VOHC Accepted Seal.

The studies were done on two groups of small and medium size dogs, divided into two groups, one that received ProDen PlaqueOff Powder and one that received a placebo. Before entering the study, all dogs were found to be healthy on examination, and their teeth were cleaned to remove all tartar and plaque. The dogs were given the product for 30 days and after this, the presence of plaque and tartar was measured. In dogs receiving ProDen PlaqueOff Powder, there was significantly less plaque and tartar. The mean reduction in plaque index was 32 percent and the mean reduction in tartar was 35 percent compared to the placebo group.
