Press release: Rascal

One of the fastest growing brands out of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Rascal wines has long supported the hard work and dedication of the Humane Society of the United States, recognized as the most effective animal protection and animal welfare organization working to end suffering for all animals.

“We believe that all good things in life are improved by our four-legged friends and hope to infuse that playful, fun nature into everything we do while giving back and looking out for all the Rascals of the world, who bring joy, warmth and companionship to our days,” said Sandra Krut, VP of marketing.

Every sale of Rascal wines gives the brand the opportunity to support animal welfare organizations that help rescue, heal, nurture and find forever homes for all animal companions.

“The Humane Society of the United States is thankful for the continued support from Rascal Wines. Their donation of over $100,000 has made a huge impact in the work we’re doing to fight for all animals,” said Kristie Tanner, director of business partnerships.

Rooted in Oregon and sustainably farmed in the Willamette and Umpqua Valleys, Rascal is produced by Oregon native winemaker, Julia Cattrall, who works the vineyards with the assistance of her dog Rosie, a rescue from the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society in Texas. Rosie is thriving in the Oregon climate and enjoys watching over the vineyards with her owner. Together they craft the delicious wines of Rascal, available in four varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Rose.

Rascal wines will be celebrating National Pet Month and Oregon Wine Month in May by offering customers 20 percent off the entire store on the company’s official website with code: NPM20. Also in May, HSUS will be launching a new campaign, More Than a Pet, to raise awareness of the disparities in access to care, celebrate the many benefits companion animals bring to our lives and ensure everyone has a fair shake at pet ownership. By the end of 2022, Rascal had already donated more than $100,000 to the Humane Society in support of local shelters around the country. Together with millions of supporters, the Humane Society of the United States takes on puppy mills, factory farms, the fur trade, trophy hunting, animal cosmetics testing and other cruel industries. Through its rescue, response and sanctuary work, as well as other hands-on animal care services, the Humane Society helps thousands of animals every year. It fights all forms of animal cruelty to achieve the vision behind our name: a humane society.
