Press release: Raised Right

Raised Right is officially plastic neutral certified by partnering with rePurpose Global to remove as much plastic from nature as they use. For every bag they sell, they’re removing one from the ecosystem. Raised Right is a family owned human-grade pet food company that works with veterinarian, Dr. Karen Becker to make “home-cooked style” whole food recipes for dogs & cats that are stored frozen and served fresh.

“We’re thrilled to partner with rePurpose Global in their effort to tackle a $30 billion per year funding gap that plagues recycling supply chains worldwide, in addition to providing a crucial income stream for waste workers and their families. Through this initiative, we’re supporting waste management projects that collect and process hard-to-recycle waste streams otherwise too low in value to be reclaimed from the environment,” said Braeden Ruud, Raised Right’s co-founder and CEO.

rePurpose Global is the world’s leading Plastic Action Platform dedicated to making environmental action accessible for purposeful companies worldwide. Since inception, rePurpose Global has created environmental impact for people across 26 countries and 100+ purposeful brands, ranging from up-and-coming SMEs to global Fortune 500s. In doing so, the coalition is positively impacting and touching the lives of 9,500+ marginalized waste workers and community members worldwide.

“Now more than ever, we need brands to take responsibility for the global plastic epidemic. We’re proud to announce that Raised Right has taken a commendable step towards creating change by becoming certified Plastic Neutral with rePurpose Global and facilitating the removal of nature-bound plastic,” said Svanika Balasubramanian, rePurpose Global’s co-founder and CEO.

Raised Right takes environmental sustainability very seriously as they recently partnered with Carbonfund.org to offset the carbon emissions coming from their home delivery service shipments through reforestation and forest preservation. Additionally, Raised Right’s shipping boxes are recyclable and the refrigerated liners they use to keep their food frozen in transit are compostable.

The Ruud’s family’s roots in farming and ranching date back for centuries. Braeden’s Mother, Mary Ann, started home cooking for their family’s pets in 2007 after the massive outbreak of pet food contamination that resulted in the death of thousands of pets. This inspired the Ruud family to create a company that pet parents can trust through placing a strong emphasis on safety and transparency.
