Press release: Petcurean

Petcurean, a leading manufacturer of high quality, premium pet food, this month donated 10,000 pounds of cat and dog food in partnership with longtime retail partner and local pet health food store Long Leash On Life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The food will provide more than 30,000 meals to help feed homeless cats and dogs this winter. This donation will directly benefit 15+ animal welfare organizations in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas, and will provide food and relief to homeless or in-need pets that would be hard pressed to make it through the winter during the colder months.

The food donations from Petcurean and other manufacturers are a direct contribution to Long Leash On Life’s 5th Annual Pay it Pet-ward Food Drive. This year’s goal was to collect and donate a minimum total of 100,000 pounds of pet food, which was scheduled to be distributed November 21 to various organizations across New Mexico, including rural shelters. Each year, there is an overwhelming need for pet food in the state shared by low-income senior citizens, rescue organizations and pet parents that are unable to afford enough cat and dog food for their pets. This sizeable donation will provide much needed relief to less-fortunate animals during the season of giving.

“We are honored to be a part of such an important and worthy cause, being undertaken by Long Leash On Life, a longstanding, values-driven retailer that Petcurean is proud to call a partner,” said Christine Mallier, PR and community relations manager at Petcurean. “At Petcurean, we believe that every pet deserves the best chance at a healthy and fulfilling life, and that starts with having their nutritional needs met. We hope this donation helps provide some relief to pet parents that might otherwise struggle to keep their pets fed and also support the many rescue and shelter groups that work tirelessly to assist the homeless pets in their areas. More importantly, we hope this food makes a difference in helping to fill some of the bellies of dogs and cats in need in New Mexico during the cold winter months.”

Petcurean is committed to helping pets and pet parents in communities across North America by supporting the incredible animal rescue volunteers that selflessly do the heartbreaking and heartwarming work to assist animals in need. This year, Petcurean has made 193 donations so far, with a total of more than 322,000 meals donated in 2019 to-date.
