PetAg, a trusted leader in premium pet nutrition and wellness, is celebrating more than five years of partnership with Pawsperity, the nation’s only nonprofit grooming school of its kind. United by a shared mission to build a better future for both pets and people, the two organizations continue to make an impact in the Kansas City community and beyond.

This year, PetAg contributed approximately $80,000 MSRP in grooming products and continued education to support Pawsperity’s transformative program, which helps break the cycle of generational poverty through job training in the growing industry*. PetAg’s Fresh ‘n Clean line remains a cornerstone of the products Pawsperity uses daily. The brand’s grooming expert, Dr. Dale Sanson, has conducted specialized hands-on trainings specifically for students and graduates of Pawsperity.

Based in Kansas City, Pawsperity’s “all-in” approach offers students an extensive 7-month program in dog grooming, coupled with critical life skills classes, and many wraparound services including case management, an onsite food pantry, housing and more. Students, often single moms coming from homelessness, domestic violence or addiction, are entrenched in poverty before starting the program.

The dogs used within the school come from the community and the grooming services are at a much-reduced cost for pet parents — many of whom may not be able to afford these services otherwise. Revenue from the grooming school goes back to support Pawsperity’s mission of unleashing human potential. Through continued investment, education, and product donations, PetAg continues to champion its mission of helping pets and pet owners enjoy more healthy, happy years together.
