Pet Partners, the nation’s leading organization registering therapy animals for animal-assisted interventions (AAI), is pleased to welcome Microsoft’s Raquel Guevara to its board of directors.

Raquel Guevara leads the customs team and tax process and innovation team within the Worldwide Tax and Customs Department, Finance, at Microsoft Corporation. She is responsible for overseeing and leading a global and diverse team of professionals engaged in technology improvement and customs operations. Guevara is a tax and customs strategist with nearly 25 years of experience in areas related to finance, manufacturing, supply chains and international trade. Prior to her current role, she led Microsoft’s Tax Process and Technology Transformation as well as the Trade organization.

“I am excited to join the Pet Partners Board of Directors. The organization’s mission means so much to me personally, but I also hope my wealth of experience in finance can contribute to the continued strength of the organization,” said Guevara.

Guevara holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Universidade Sao Francisco, Brazil. She is an animal lover who is passionate about sharing the benefits of therapy animals and the human-animal bond, which she believes leads to benefits in the mind and body, promoting an overall balanced mental and emotional state. She is the proud pet parent of cats George and Zoey, and golden retriever Scarlett, with whom she is active in her community. She is currently in the process of registering with Scarlett as a Pet Partners therapy animal team and is looking forward to bringing joy to others by sharing Scarlett with those who can benefit from the love of a therapy animal.

“Raquel is not only bringing her strong financial background to our board, she also is passionate about her commitment to community and diversity, which lends itself well to our organization. I look forward to having her insight and expertise on the board,” said C. Annie Peters, president and CEO of Pet Partners.
