Omega Plus Partners With Jim Swanson, Catalyst Retail Solutions

Press release: Omega Plus

Omega Plus, a New Zealand-based company dedicated to providing salmon superfood treats for pets, is pleased to announce that they have partnered with Jim Swanson, owner of Catalyst Retail Solutions (CRS), to maximize the brand’s development and performance in the United States.

Catalyst Retail Solutions believes Omega Plus has a powerful story, which includes using the best salmon on the planet to create single ingredient treats that offer a variety of health benefits to pets. Through this newly formed partnership, CRS will help the brand develop a sales and forecasting plan by determining the best marketing vehicles offered by retail and distribution partners.

To do this, Swanson will research the ways in which Omega Plus aligns with industry trends in both the human and pet consumables space. Using multiple market analytics, in-store conversion and syndicated data analysis will also provide leverage to help grow the company.

“Omega Plus recently debuted in the United States, and it’s important to have a strategy that will allow us to utilize the most effective ways of increasing our brand awareness,” said Michael Fabbro, vice president for New Zealand King Salmon USA. “I’m confident that Jim’s established sales and marketing background in the pet industry will allow Omega Plus to reach new heights among potential retailer and distributor partners.”

In 2015, Swanson launched Catalyst Retail Solutions to give smaller companies the knowledge and guidance needed to navigate large retailer activation more effectively and profitably. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of national accounts at Chuck Latham Associates, a pet-focused sales and marketing firm, where he oversaw the PetSmart and Petco teams.

Catalyst Retail Solutions oversees multiple pet specialty brands that are leaders in their categories representing $900 million in retail sales.

Born out of the idea that not only humans could benefit from New Zealand’s world class King Salmon, but pets can too, Omega Plus is part of the New Zealand King Salmon Company, which has been sustainably raising salmon to serve to fine dining customers around the world for over 30 years. As self-professed animal lovers, the brand is focused on creating healthy and nutritious pet treats and food using high-quality King Salmon from the crystal-clear waters of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds. Omega Plus believes that an all-natural diet full of high-quality protein is vital for keeping animals happy and healthy. That’s why they’ve developed a line of products that improve and maintain every aspect of a pet’s health. Regal New Zealand King Salmon has achieved the world-leading Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification from The Global Aquaculture Alliance and the New Zealand King salmon industry received the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Green/Best Choice rating in 2015, the first marine-farmed salmon to achieve this rating, which was renewed in 2020.
