Nylabone, an iconic brand in the Central Garden & Pet portfolio, recently donated 15,000 chew toys to leading national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society and its network of shelters and rescue groups in 2025 through their CHEWS for Good campaign.

This year, Nylabone celebrated 70 years of Chew Happiness with the CHEWS for Good campaign, donating a chew toy to a shelter dog for each Nylabone receipt uploaded to Nylabone Cares web page.

In addition to donating 15,000 chew toys for a donation value of $70,000, Nylabone entered participating pet parents to win prizes like gift cards and a grand prize worth up to $30,000.

“At the heart of our organization is the passion and purpose to give all dogs the healthiest, happiest way to do what they love: chew!” said Glen S. Axelrod, president and CEO of Nylabone Products. “That’s why we wanted to celebrate our 70th birthday by encouraging fellow pet parents to help us give shelter dogs a safe, non-destructive chewing outlet as they wait to find their forever homes.”

Throughout the campaign, Nylabone’s chew toys were distributed across the country to Best Friends locations in Kanab, Utah; Los Angeles, California; Bentonville, Arkansas; Houston, Texas; the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah; Best Friends partner shelters in Chicago, Illinois; and more rescue groups in the Best Friends Animal Society network. Donations in Texas and the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary helped dogs displaced by the Texas floods in July 2025.

Founded in 1984, Best Friends is dedicated to making the entire country no-kill, which means saving every healthy and treatable pet in shelters. The national organization runs lifesaving facilities and programs nationwide in partnership with more than 5,500 shelters and rescue organizations.
