National Fetch Day Turns 5: Petmate, Detroit Pistons Announce Partnership

What’s orange, round and appears in abundance every Fall? A Chuckit! Ball of course! Everyone’s favorite holiday is finally here – National Fetch Day – and Chuckit! is celebrating five years of bringing joy and close bonds to pets and their families with the simple game of fetch! Saturday, October 15  marks the fifth anniversary and celebrations across the country are ramping up to bring more dog parties, more swag giveaways and more ways to fetch like never before.

“What started out as a seed of an idea has now grown into the biggest pet holiday and event in the country,” said Chris Wilson, chief marketing officer at Petmate. “As this national holiday continues to grow and evolve year after year, we’re proud that the Chuckit! brand remains synonymous with every dog’s preferred way to play.”

This year, Chuckit! is partnering with the Detroit Pistons to bring a new element of fun and hustle to the Motor City. The ultimate fetch party will take place at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center with Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) on-site to celebrate the day with adoptable dogs for fans to fetch their new forever friend. In addition, the day will bring tons of action with special appearances by the Detroit Pistons Dancers, Hooper the mascot, awesome fetch games and so much more!  As millions of Chuckit! balls are launched across the country this month, celebrations will also continue at dog-friendly pub parties outfitted with Chuckit! Fetch Packs stuffed with the distinct blue and orange gear and other fun surprises for every furry fetch partner.
