MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin, the original off-leash dog park, bar and grill concept, is opening its doors to the North Austin location in mid-June 2023. Catering to both two-legged and four-legged friends alike, the new park is located at 9825 N. Lake Creek Parkway and is the first Austin location from the MUTTS Canine Cantina franchise.

Heading up the new location are Austin-based twin sisters and co-owners, Lisa Ladewig and Laura Ladewig Landers. Both Lisa and Laura bring unique backgrounds to their business ventures; Lisa with 16 years of sales experience and Laura’s 25 years in event planning and business development. The two entrepreneurs saw the opportunity to bring MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin to one of the most pet-friendly cities in America, combining business with their passion for fostering a community of like-minded people that can come together and socialize, both with their pups and each other. Today, Lisa serves as vice president of sales and marketing, and Laura as the vice president of business development and events for their family-owned and operated business.

“It was a no-brainer that Austin needed a destination like MUTTS where pups and peeps can enjoy all their favorite things in one place,” said vice president of sales and marketing, Lisa Ladewig. “We’re thrilled to bring Austinites a premiere outdoor ‘eater’tainment concept to come eat, drink, relax and hang out with both two and four-legged friends.”

MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin — the largest of the franchise’s locations to date — offers the ultimate fun, clean and safe outdoor environment for everyone. The 1.6 acre park amenities include but are not limited to the K9 Splash Pad, both large and small dog parks, automated and self-wash dog wash stations, as well as covered patios, fire pits, event areas and private party cabanas offering mimosa and bloody mary bottle service. Additionally, Bark Rangers are on duty to help pick up after your pet, make sure they have ample water — even in the giant wash tubs — and most importantly to make sure everyone’s furry friends are playing nicely.

In addition to opening MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin, Laura and Lisa boast a portfolio of outdoor technology, movie and entertainment businesses. Equipped with state of the art outdoor sound capabilities, LED TVs and LED screens which can be viewed anywhere in the park, MUTTS Austin is always the perfect place to catch games, awards shows, live music and much more.

Also unique to MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin is the fantastic food and drinks from the full service bar and grill. MUTTS Austin will be serving specialty cocktails including the Barkarita (MUTTS’ signature margarita) and Texas Mule, wine by the can or bottle, and a variety of local craft beers including a K9 Lager from Texas Beer Co. that gives back to K9s For Warriors. The MUTTS Austin grill will feature snacks including Fried Pickles, Edamame Hummus and Crinkle Fries; Sandwich and Chicken Tender Combos including the award-winning MUTTS Burger, MUTTS Original Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Cheese & Hot Pickle Sandwich; Breakfast Tacos and refreshing treats including Cold Stacks (MUTTS’ twist on a milkshake) and Frozen Lemonade Popsicles. Catering to the four-legged customers, PUPsicles (frozen peanut butter and beef broth served on edible “sticks”) and Doggie Dog (bite size 100 percent beef frank) are also available.

To celebrate grand opening, Austinites and pups are invited to pawty with MUTTS on Thursday, July 13th from 4-10pm to explore the new park, enjoy live music, indulge in sips and bites from the bar and grill and more! At the event MUTTS Austin will unveil their MUTTS Memory Lane with the first set of custom engraved bricks for MUTTS Austin members benefitting local non-profits, Emancipet and Austin Humane Society.
