Manna Pro Products Acquires Promika, LLC Pet Brands

Manna Pro Products, a St. Louis-based manufacturer and marketer of pet care and nutrition, announced the acquisition of Promika, LLC Pet Brands, a companion pet health company that provides affordable flea and tick solutions to keep pets and their families happy and healthy.

Promika is a family of innovative and trusted brands that offer the efficacy and performance of category leaders, at a fraction of the price. The product lines span spot-ons, collars and sprays, with brands including ZoGuard, Adventure Plus, Salvo and ShieldTec.

ZoGuard Plus is a national brand equivalent to Frontline Plus and utilizes the same active ingredients—Fipronil and S-Methoprene. It’s effective on fleas/flea eggs/ticks/lice, is waterproof and delivers the same length and quality protection. Adventure Plus is a national brand equivalent to Advantage II, which utilizes the same active ingredients Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen. It’s effective on fleas/flea eggs/flea larvae/lice, is waterproof and has the same length and protection.

Salvo is a national brand equivalent to Scalibor, utilizing the same active ingredients. It’s effective on fleas and ticks. Each package contains two, six-month collars for up to 12 months of waterproof protection. ShieldTec Plus is a national brand equivalent to K-9 Advantix II. There are three types: ShieldTec for Cats, which is effective on fleas, ticks and lice; ShieldTec for Dogs, which is effective on fleas, flea eggs, ticks, lice and repels and kills mosquitos; and ShieldTec Flea & Tick Collar, which is effective on fleas and ticks.

Manna Pro has made several acquisitions over the past few years, including Nutri-Vet, Espree, Fruitables and, more recently, Hero Pet Brands. These acquisitions have successfully established the company as a scale player with one of the most comprehensive portfolios in canine and feline wellness, grooming, oral care and flea and tick solutions.

Manna Pro is owned by investment vehicles managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, the middle-market focused private equity business of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, which acquired it in December 2017.
