The 10th edition of the India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) will be taking place October 26-28 in Delhi, India. South Asia’s only pet trade fair, IIPTF is the ideal platform for international exhibitors who want to sell their products in India, Indian exporters seeking international buyers, as well as Indian manufacturers and importers who wish to sell products in the Indian market itself. Product categories include products for dogs, cats, small animals, fish and horses.

This year, IIPTF has changed its destination to India’s capital of India. The Indian pet industry has evolved into an $850 million-plus industry, and it’s expected to continue to register strong double digit retail value, which is one the reasons Creature Companion, the Indian pet care magazine that hosts the show, expects it to be a success. A growing middle-class population in the country, coupled with an increasing number of pet adoptions, has led to owners spending on premium and functional foods in tandem with the wider availability of products on online retail channels. The adoption of pets has doubled, with the number of household pets standing at 18.5 million.

“We recognize the need for businesses to expand and achieve constant growth. At IIPTF, we bring all the essential people from the industry under one roof to discover possibilities, identify a broader scope, gain perspective and fulfil targets,” the show said in a press release. “The buyer-seller meet encourages both overseas and Indian companies to meet and discuss common areas of business. Attendees also have the opportunity to gain some insight through our seminars and workshops on ethical dog breeding, dog grooming and pet retail.”

IIPTF will include “Aquagic – The Magic of Aquarium,” a new segment that has been introduced in this edition of the IIPTF, considering the rapid growth of the aquarium industry in India. IIPTF has, thus, decided to give a separate identity to aquaria in the form of a dedicated hobby segment. This area will exhibit aquariums, pumps, accessories and cages amongst other products.

Pets are allowed and can take part in several competitions and shows that will be held at the event, including ‘Peppy Puppy Day of Fun’ which involves activities like treasure hunts, pet skits, “pawlaroids,” and dine with doggo.
