Hollywood Feed Acquires 4 Atlanta-based Rucker Pet Stores

Memphis, Tennessee-based Hollywood Feed recently acquired Atlanta, Georgia-based Rucker Pet, bringing Hollywood Feed’s Atlanta store count to 16 and its nationwide store count to more than 80.

“We initially became interested in Rucker because they are the premier family-owned pet retailer in the region,” says Shawn McGhee, president of Hollywood Feed. “Once we got to know them, we realized how much we are aligned in terms of philosophy, work ethic, support of local rescues, and a dedication to quality, holistic offerings.”

All four of the Atlanta-area Rucker Pet stores are part of the acquisition, including:

• Hammond’s Crossing (3540 Keith Bridge Road, Cumming, Georgia 30041)
• Kelly Mill (4335 Bethelview Road, Cumming, Gerogia 30040)
• Laurel Springs (3245 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee, Georgia 30024)
• Windermere (2990 Buford Highway, Cumming, Georgia 30041)

Hollywood Feed will offer positions to all Rucker Pet employees on staff. Hollywood Feed has successfully integrated other brands into its “pack” via prior acquisitions including All About Pets, Hollywood Petstar, Premium Pets, Bark ‘n Purr and Pawtique.

“The recent trend of regional brands consolidating made the timing right for this latest acquisition,” McGhee said. “A key component to our growth is strategic acquisition of like-minded brands in pet-friendly markets—and Atlanta tops that list.”

Hollywood Feed is continuing its own growth in the Atlanta area with plans to open eight new stores in the coming months. Once complete, the Atlanta-area Hollywood Feed store count will be just under 25 stores after entering the market less than two years ago.
