Healthy Pet Acquires Simply Pine

Healthy Pet, a division of J. Rettenmaier & Söhne, acquired the Simply Pine cat litter brand.

Simply Pine was formally owned by Dry Creek Products, LLC., and the two companies made a multi-year agreement for Dry Creek to supply Healthy Pet with cat litter products.

“This transaction further demonstrates the commitment of JRS and Healthy Pet to growth in the North American pet products market,” Ted Mischaikov, CEO of Healthy Pet, said. “Specifically, acquiring Simply Pine accelerates Healthy Pet’s strategic expansion into the natural fiber cat litter market. Combining the Simply Pine business with our existing Healthy Pet litter sales and the coming launch of our new ökocat product line will give the company critical mass and an excellent platform for further growth in this attractive segment of the market.”

Simply Pine is an all natural, wood based cat litter available in both clumping and regular versions. Simply Pine litter is sold in over 1,500 retail locations throughout the U.S.
