Press release: Grandma Lucy’s

Project Pet RAK is a non-profit, charitable initiative presented by Grandma Lucy’s. Its mission is to make generous food donations, raise funds to help dogs in need, service/therapy dogs and their people. Project Pet RAK is also the official food sponsor of Locks4Paws, a non-profit that works hard to keep the relationship of pets and their people intact by providing services for those in need. The motto is: Pets are more than just animals; they are family and all family matters.

On April 1, Project Pet RAK and Locks4Paws will donate Grandma Lucy’s wholesome, freeze-dried recipes to four food bank locations across the United States. Some of these locations include Coast Hills Church in Santa Ana, California and The Boys & Girls Club in Sioux City, Iowa. All four food bank locations will receive donations of dog food to help keep their shelves stocked and their furry friends fed.

“We have always been a company that cares. We care about pets, and we care about giving back. I’m so proud of these partnerships and the ability to help support people and their furry family members. We are proud to be the official food sponsor for Locks4Paws,” said Breann Shook, owner/founder of Grandma Lucy’s and board member of Locks4Paws.

Giving back has been at the forefront for Grandma Lucy’s and Project Pet RAK was inspired by Random Acts of Kindness (RAK). This passion project was created by a mother/daughter duo Breann and Alex Shook. Their mission is to provide wholesome, nutritious meals to service dogs, therapy dogs, and dogs in need. Project Pet RAK is the official food sponsor for both Little Angles Service Dogs and Locks4Paws. Since its inception, Project Pet RAK has donated over one million meals.

Grandma Lucy’s was established in 1999 by pet parents Eric and Breann Shook in Southern California and proudly remains a family-owned and operated small business. Grandma Lucy’s specializes in solution-based feeding with their all natural, freeze-dried recipes. Their two-step braising and freeze-drying process retains the nutritional integrity of the ingredients while remaining preservative-free, lightweight, and shelf stable. The core family values of Grandma Lucy’s have been steadfast since its conception: Pets first, think big – stay small, solution-based feeding, and giving back.
