Earthborn Holistic Celebrates 10-Year Recycling Partnership with TerraCycle

Earthborn Holistic Pet Food’s Earthborn ReBorn program started in October 2015 as the brand’s sustainability initiative to keep pet food packaging out of landfills. Through the TerraCycle partnership, Earthborn Holistic pet food & treat bags are 100 percent recyclable through the Earthborn ReBorn Program. Consumers drop off empty bags at participating retailers for recycling and upcycling all at company expense.

Over the past 10 years, Earthborn Holistic has hit an incredible milestone of over 2,000,000 bags recycled through this program and through their family of recycling partners. This is equal to keeping 260,649 pounds of waste out of the landfill.

All Earthborn Holistic dog food packaging is made of 25 percent recycled material, using the ISCC mass balance approach. The mass balance approach is crucial in tracking material flow in the chemical industry, enabling progress toward a circular and bio-based economy.

Participating in the recycling program is easy for both pet parents and businesses. To get started, simply collect and recycle empty, dry Earthborn Holistic pet food, treat bags and pouches. Pet parents can then drop these off at a participating public location, which you can find on the program map. Retailers can also join the effort by enrolling as a public drop-off point to serve their communities and increase store traffic.
