Press release: Hounds Town USA

Michael and Michelle Hurley were both born and raised in Pittsburgh. Their venture into entrepreneurship began when Michael opened his chiropractic practice in 2000. The couple moved back to their hometown and started a gym in the Pittsburgh area as a way to get involved in the community as well as give back to it. Six years ago, the Hurleys began searching for franchise opportunities that would allow them to once again serve their community.

“I knew when researching franchises, I wanted to do something with animals,” said Michael. “Everyone loves animals and to be honest — people treat their dogs like their own children. We toured many [Hounds Town USA] facilities and we loved what we saw. Dogs are our happiness. I’m excited to finally get our location up and running just to see the excitement from people bringing their dogs to us.”

The Hurleys wanted to open a business that they could be passionate about as well as continue to run their other businesses. They saw a need for a doggy daycare in the Pittsburgh area that really stood out and catered to its client’s needs. Hounds Town USA provided services that the Hurleys would want for their own dogs and that encouraged the couple to sign up for their first location with the brand.

Hounds Town USA Pittsburgh will officially open on January 7th. Michael and Michelle signed up for one location to start with but the couple has their sights set on growing with the brand throughout the state.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Michael and Michelle to the Hounds Town family,” said CEO Jackie Bondanza. “Their love for animals and approach to pet care are perfectly aligned with our brand, making Michael and Michelle a fantastic addition to Hounds Town USA. We are thrilled to watch them grow the business and serve the people and pets of Pittsburgh.”

The Pittsburgh-Brentwood Hounds Town USA will open on January 7 and is now accepting new clients at 2800 Saw Mill Run Blvd, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Since 2000, Hounds Town USA has offered a safe and welcoming environment for dogs to be dogs. With interactive doggie daycare, pet boarding, dog grooming, a pet taxi and retail services, Hounds Town USA’s unique town for dogs is home to the happiest dogs — and franchise owners — on Earth. Founded by former NYPD canine handler and commanding officer of the Nassau County Police Department Michael S. Gould, Hounds Town USA has grown to more than 30 locations with plans to open 20 more units before 2023.
