Chasing Our Tails recently announced its acquisition of K9 Candy Kitchen for an undisclosed amount. Chasing will continue to produce K9’s Made in the U.S.A. Himalayan-Style Chews in its St. Charles facility. K9 Candy Kitchen was owned and operated by the Trowe family and headquartered in Gardena, California. The company’s mission was to create unique pet products sourced with the finest sustainable and organic ingredients.

Himalayan Dog Chews is a large and growing subset of the $10 billion U.S. dog treat business (Source: Packaged Facts). Most of these dog chews are made in Nepal and imported to the U.S. Due to regulatory issues, the chews cannot be imported from Nepal into the European Union. K9 Candy Kitchen changed the game by making a similar chew 100 percent in the U.S.A. Chasing Our Tails will bring its manufacturing expertise and scale to meet the growing demand.

Headquartered in St. Charles, Minnesota, Chasing Our Tails specializes in the production of branded premium single- and limited-ingredient pet treat and chew products. It specializes in dehydrated, freeze-dried, and extruded treats and animal parts like Smoked Bones. The company was formed in 2009 and currently operates more than 100,000 square feet of production space.
