All-natural dog treat manufacturer Campfire Treats has received Compassion in World Farming’s 2024 Good Chicken Award in recognition of its leading efforts to improve the lives of chickens raised for meat.
Compassion in World Farming’s 2024 Good Farm Animal Awards, presented in Paris, France, recognized 49 companies from over 15 countries around the world for leadership in improving farm animal welfare and creating sustainable, nature-friendly food. Over 500 million animals annually will benefit from the efforts of these companies alone.
Campfire Treats received the 2024 “Good Chicken Award” for being the first company to become fully compliant with the U.S. Better Chicken Commitment (BCC), setting an example for more than just pet food companies. The BCC mandates healthier (slow growing) breeds, enriched environments that support a chicken’s natural behavior, more humane processing and third-party auditing to certify these standards are met.
“We are proud and humbled to receive Compassion in World Farming’s Good Chicken Award in recognition of being the first-ever company to exclusively produce chicken products in full compliance with the Better Chicken Commitment. We believe in improving the welfare of all animals — not just those we invite into our homes as pets,” said Marko Wittich, president and co-founder of Campfire Treats.
Located in Rocklin, California, Campfire Treats offers one of the largest selections of all-natural, single-ingredient dog treats and chews made on the West Coast. Committed to the highest quality standards, the company consciously sources all ingredients from U.S. farms and fisheries and uses no additives or preservatives in their products.
