Press release: American Pet Professionals

American Pet Professionals (APP), which has been in business for nearly 11 years, is announcing that membership enrollment for 2019 is closing on August 31, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

Pet professionals that have been interested in joining and becoming a member of American Pet Professionals have just a few days left to join for 2019. New members that join before the enrollment closes will be grandfathered in at the annual membership rate, whether they choose a VIP or basic level of membership. APP does not have monthly membership dues. Doors won’t open again until 2020; however, annual membership dues will be increased dramatically in 2020.

American Pet Professionals was established in February 2009 with the intent to bring together pet business owners and animal rescue organizations from all areas of the industry. The core mission has not changed but has evolved over the years as APP has grown as an organization with members all over the United States and from every niche.

“Providing our members with education, support, know-how, promotion, referrals and recommendations and so much more has always been part of our mission. We stay abreast of what is trending in the industry (and often ahead of the trends), to help keep our members up-to-date with [what] they can expect to be happening in the industry and offer innovative learning and networking solutions no matter where our members are located,” said Nancy Hassel, founder and president of American Pet Professionals.

“For over a decade we have been an open-enrollment membership, and that is now changing so we can focus on our members even more! Our members mean the world to us, and we want to help our current members and any new members that join [to] benefit from what we have been doing as well as everything we will be rolling out the next few months! To say I am excited would be an understatement!” Hassel said.

Since the soft announcement of the doors closing for enrollment in 2019, multiple new members have already joined American Pet Professionals. The retention rate for members renewing annually is 98 percent, and in the last 18 months, APP has had the most amount of members join APP since their inception over a decade ago.

“We also have members that left the industry for a while, come back and re-join APP knowing they will be getting a tremendous amount of value from their membership,” said Hassel.

APP plans to continue in-person networking events in different areas of the country as they have been doing for years now, often partnering with members in different locations and co-hosting events together, as well as working with many other pet industry organizations and industry events by helping promote and guide them. Hassel is also on a few advisory boards and loves to see everyone succeed.
