AFCO Distribution & Milling has announced the opening of a new distribution center in Lacey, Washington, bringing its total warehousing to over a quarter million square feet, significantly enhancing its distribution network along the I-5 corridor. AFCO has been warehousing and cross docking at a facility in Centralia Washington since 2023.
This strategic addition allows AFCO to support operational efficiency with 24-hour delivery service to our retailers across metropolitan areas in the Pacific Northwest, delivering with greater efficiency, reliability and regional support.
In addition to bolstering service and expanding a retailer network, the new center also contributes to the local economy, creating jobs and offering benefits to Lacey and surrounding communities.
The facility will stock and distribute a wide range of premium products, supporting significant growth in the healthy pet retail market and continued expansion in the farm and fleet sector. This location aligns with strategic growth plans in partnership with vendors and retail partners.
“In the ever-changing world of distribution, retailers are looking for options,” said Lloyd Campbell, vice president of wholesale operations for AFCO Distribution. “As a regional distributor, AFCO can respond faster than national competitors in maintaining inventory levels and fill rates that exceed industry standards. We provide in‑person, local customer service and a market‑based sales team which enables us to serve retailers and manufacturers consistently and effectively. This expansion is a direct response to our customers’ needs. It helps independent stores stay competitive, meet customer demand quickly, and reduce out-of-stock issues especially during peak seasons.”
AFCO currently serves over 800 feed and pet supply retailers across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska, offering more than 8,500 distinct products.
“Our goal with this facility is speed and precision, getting the right products to the right retailers faster and fresher,” said Steve Putnam AFCO’s chief operations officer. “This is a huge win for our delivery routes, and it allows us to better support stores throughout the I-5 corridor.”
The Lacey Distribution Center is a powerful reflection of AFCO’s enduring mission, vision and values rooted in commitment to customers, employees and community. Guided by integrity, driven by performance and dedicated to quality and safety. This new facility strengthens the partnerships and purpose that have defined AFCO for generations.
