Press release: PetWellClinic

PetWellClinic, a walk-in wellness clinic offering high-quality, convenient and affordable veterinary care for cats and dogs, recently announced that it has opened its second New Jersey location.

The new clinic, located in the Green Brook Plaza at 326 US-22, Suite 1B in Green Brook, New Jersey, provides preventative care such as exams and vaccinations, care for minor illnesses, management of chronic conditions and laboratory testing. It is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Veterinary services are administered by Marcella Springstead, DVM, who earned her degree at the University of Missouri – Columbia and was a veterinarian with Banfield Pet Hospital in Bridgewater, New Jersey, for five years prior to joining PetWellClinic.

Modeled after the rapidly expanding and widely popular walk-in clinics for people care, PetWellClinic provides convenient, quick in-and-out services at affordable prices with extended evening and weekend hours beyond those of traditional veterinary offices. Pet owners can get care for their pets when it’s needed, or when it fits best into their busy schedules. Services range from individual vaccinations or lab tests to wellness packages that include additional tests and treatments as well as a physical exam. The clinic places a priority on transparency, from its straightforward explanation of services to a floorplan that always keeps pets in their owners’ sight. Records are accessible 24/7 via a secure database housed within the PetWellClinic website.

“We are off to a great start,” said vice president of operations Jeanine Camporine, noting that pet owners have been flocking to the clinic for vaccinations, allergy issues, ear infections and exams.

The clinic has also been partnering with local pet-related and other organizations to support the community that supports it, she added.

“We just attended the Bark-B-Q with The Pup Club Boutique and Dog Wash of Colonia; we’re sponsoring the 5K Paws and Soles Walk to benefit Somerset Regional Animal Shelter; and next month we’re going to ‘WOOF STOCK,’ an event benefiting the Home for Good Dog Rescue,” she explained.

The facility is also offering a free initial exam to any pet adopted either from the Somerset shelter or from the Plainfield Humane Society, she added.

This is the second PetWellClinic for franchisees Joshua Kovacs and Robert Huntington. Kovacs is chief executive officer of Oakscale, a firm that helps would-be franchisors set up their franchise offering and emerging franchise brands scale more quickly. Oakscale is the franchise development arm for PetWellClinic throughout the United States. Additional investor partners include serial entrepreneur Steve Nave, former head of Walmart’s eCommerce division; and Huntington’s company, MetricCollective, a vertically integrated business that develops and invests in franchisors and connects them with potential franchisees. MetricCollective has a stake in Oakscale and owns FranchiseHelp, FranFunnel and Westside Franchise Brands, as well.

“We are thrilled to be bringing PetWellClinic’s exceptional services to more pet owners in northern New Jersey, while continuing to help other aspiring business owners get into a business with high demand,” said Kovacs. “As a population, we continue to have more pets and less time in our lives. PetWellClinic has landed on the perfect consumer and franchise formulas to ensure that owners can get their pets the care they need when they need it, and that people can get into the pet care business with the support they need to succeed.”
