These are some of the latest livestock currently available from Nautilus Tropical Fish Wholesale, located in Florida. Images courtesy of Mike Jacobs and members of Nautilus.

Black diamond hybrid stingrays are Bangkok tank-raised fish. These are a leopoldi ray cross, but with a bit more intricate pattern. Like all freshwater rays they get big and need lots of space. They’ll eat from your fingers once they settle in.

‘Haplochromis’ thereuterion is a rare Lake Victorian fish. Critically endangered, these insectivores are tank-raised fish from the Czech Republic.

Lamprologus brevis are dwarf cichlids from Lake Tanganyika, around 2” when full grown. They live in empty snails shells.

Black angelfish are available now. Florida bred, and holding up great.

Rhombo barbs aka snakeskin barbs are an underrated Asian import. More colorful, smaller, and less aggressive than tiger barbs, they do well in a community tank with other smaller schooling fish.

Emerald-eye rasboras have a subtle beauty. Mostly silver, their eyes practically glow when set up in a planted tank with dark gravel. A big school of these makes for an amazing display.

Shadow cats are another Asian import that should be more popular. Similar to glass cats, they are a peaceful, diurnal, mid-water swimming schooling catfish. Another uncommon import that should sell well for independent retail stores looking for species that aren’t in box stores.

Granulosus cats are in stock from Peru. They’re only a few inches long now, but they have a max size of nearly three feet! While they’re not very active they still need a huge tank. If you do stock ‘monster fish’ like these please make sure your customers are aware of how large they’ll get.

Amazon swordplants aren’t rare or unusual but they are running big right now and look fantastic.

The Flameback Angel is a dwarf angel that is endemic to Africa. The Flameback Angel is a hardy and omnivorous small angel. They can be a great addition to any marine or reef aquarium, with the caveat that they may pose a threat to some coral.

Elephant-nose knife fish are another Peru oddball. They don’t like each other, but are peaceful with fish that don’t fit in their mouths. They have a tiny mouth at the end out of their ‘trunk’, used to pick small worms and other inverts out of the substrate.
