CityVet, the growing Dallas-based network of 36 veterinarian-owned practices serving people through pet care with kindness for the last 25 years, recently announced Michael Kascask has joined the team as vice president of talent acquisition.

Most recently Kascask held the role of Head of SWE Sourcing for Google, North America. There, he led a team of internal sourcing experts and an RPO function supporting Google’s consumer, hardware and cloud organizations.

Prior to this role, he served as director of America’s talent acquisition and head of global tech recruiting at PayPal/Venmo, which is where his journey with big tech began. During this time he oversaw recruiting teams based in the U.S., Latin America, the UK, India and China.

Before making the jump over to big tech Kascask served as head of Americas recruiting for CBRE, as well as various roles within Capital One, Bank of America and Aerotek.

On joining the CityVet team Kascask said, “I’ve always loved pets and animals, so it is serendipitous that at this point in my career I’ve been given the opportunity to move into a new industry that marries my talent acquisition experience with an industry that is near and dear to me.”

In his role at CityVet, Kascask will be responsible for supporting the organization as it continues its plans for exponential growth.

He will develop strategy to allow for the efficiency and optimization of hiring practices as the brand scales, supporting the hiring of new DVM’s, veterinary technicians and clinic staff as new locations open.

Reflecting on what drew him to CityVet, Kascask added, “A lot of companies use the term ‘family’ to describe their company culture, but they don’t always practice what they preach. Upon meeting CityVet founder Dennis [Horter], I instantly sensed that he had genuinely nurtured this culture by leading by example with kindness and approachability.”

As he continued to meet more members of the team it became clear to Kascask that the same could be said for the entire organization.

“Michael brings a depth of knowledge about talent acquisition to CityVet and we are thrilled for him to join our growing team,” said CityVet CEO David Boguslawski. “We were impressed by his diverse background in various industries and are confident that his experience with skillfully managing the candidate journey to yield the best results for applicants and companies aligns perfectly with our goals as we continue to expand our footprint.”
